SECULAR CLERGY
This project is thus circumscribed to the seals of a particular group of the Church that formed a powerful elite in the Portuguese medieval social hierarchy. In this elite are included the archbishops, bishops, canons and clergymen from the cathedrals, priests from parochial churches and the remaining clergy aggregated to the some fifty collegiate churches founded during this period, most of which located in the dioceses of Lisbon, Coimbra and Braga.
